We were just married, had no kids, and had just started to grow our small outfitting business. We were a little naive about what it took to run a successful small business. We had big dreams and met some very big obstacles that tested the validity of those dreams.
Since then, we have always made it our goal each year to improve in whatever way we can — no matter how small. Some years we are able to accomplish more goals than others, but each year we continue to grow. We put our “nose to the grindstone” and put our faith in the fact that if we continue to make decisions based on what we think is right, good things will happen. And good things happened.
In 2016, after many years of hard work, long hours, and lots of sacrifices, one of our big dreams became a real possibility. In 2017, that possibility became a reality. The lodge that we dreamed about for so long, now sits across the pond from our home. We get to look at it every day.
Our dream has now expanded to all kinds of exciting new adventures. The Lodge at Windy Ridge is designed to bring people together. Not only our hunters that come together from all over the country each hunting season, but families looking to create memories on a vacation, friends coming together who haven’t seen each other in years, business owners and employees, moms needing a “grown-up” night, and the list goes on and on… The possibilities are endless actually, and we are so excited to see what future years have in store.
